Initially known to music fans as a girl group Fifth Harmony, Normani is now a solo artist.
Since then, the singer-songwriter has established herself as a solo superstar with smash songs and a consistent appearance at the Savage X Fenty fashion show. Normani is now preparing for the next phase of her career with a new single.
Normani has only released a handful of songs thus far.
The singer-music songwriter’s releases have been few and far between since the dissolution of Fifth Harmony in 20xx. In 2018, she released her first solo track, “Love Lies,” which collaborated with Khalid and became certified five-times platinum after selling more than five million copies.
In the following years, she collaborated with other artists on two more songs — “Waves” with 6lack and “Dancing With a Stranger” with Sam Smith — before embarking on her solo career.
In 2019, Normani released the pop single “Motivation,” which was the first time Normani had the opportunity to showcase her musical abilities on a song without sharing the spotlight with a featured artist.
Ariana Grande collaborated on the song’s writing, marking the singer’s first time composing a song for another artist since her breakout hit “Break Free.”
Normani released her song “Wild Side” in 2021, marking the beginning of her much-anticipated debut album. With the Cardi B-assisted track, Normani displayed a more mature side of herself and indicated the type of music she intended to release on her upcoming album.
The second single from her album, “Fair,” is on its way.
Normani has announced that ‘Fair’ will be released on March 18.
“Fair” is set to be released on December 31, 2021, according to Normani, who first hinted at it in a film dedicated to the upcoming year. Throughout much of the first quarter of 2022, the singer teased bits of the song’s beginning and first verse on social media, leaving fans yearning for her to release the track.

“Fair” was scheduled to arrive on March 18, according to a statement she released on March 1. According to an Instagram post, she is only seventeen days away from the big day.
“I’ll be releasing my second child on March 18.” The unveiling took place around Mardi Gras; a celebration believed to have held special significance for Normani when she was a child growing up in New Orleans.
And the title of the song appears to have been hidden in plain sight: during a Q&A on her Instagram Stories a few days before the revelation, when a fan voiced irritation with her single not being published, she responded with the words, “That’s fair” and a heart emoji.
A piece of seductive late-night soul music, the song appears to be about a romance that did not turn out the way Normani had hoped it would.
As reported by Genius, the song was produced by HARV, who has worked with various musicians, including Justin Bieber, Skrillex, and Summer Walker. He has also worked with Gucci Mane, Gucci Mane, and Eminem, among others.
So yet, she has only had a solo career.
The anticipation for Normani’s new single is palpable. However, while she has not yet confirmed a title or a release date for her album, it is most likely that it will be published sometime in 2022.
Normani is well-known for her musical accomplishments, but she also has a variety of other interests and activities.
Her dancing, for example, continues to be a feature of her performances. At the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, she shared the stage with Teyana Taylor in a sensual performance. Her “Wild Side” video demonstrated how readily she could execute challenging choreography without struggle.
Normani has also established herself as one of Rihanna’s favorite muses. To date, every Savage X Fenty fashion show has featured her, first as a performer, then as a model, and most recently as a performer.
