What Is the Plot of This Television Show?
Topher Grace, Caitlin McGee, Jimmy Tatro, Karla Souza, Sasheer Zamata, Shiloh Bearman, Jordyn Curet, Chloe Jo Rountree, and JeCobi Swain feature in the ABC television sitcom Home Economics.
The show examines the wonderful yet often awkward and, at times, stressful relationship between the Hayworth family’s three adult siblings. Connor (Tatro) is the family’s youngest and most successful sibling.
He is the founder and CEO of his private equity group, and his marriage has broken down. He is the father of a daughter called Gretchen (Bearman).
Tom (Grace) is the middle sibling and a striving middle-class author. He is married to Marina (Souza), a former attorney, and the couple is the parents of three children.
Sarah (McGee) is the oldest child and a struggling child therapist. She is married to Denise (Zamata), a teacher, and has two children. They currently reside in a filthy Bay Area loft.
Ratings for the Second Season
Home Economics’ second season averaged a 0.35 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.00 million viewers in live+same day ratings (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
Compared to season one, this is a 25% drop in the demo and a 22% drop in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
While these figures exclude further delayed or streamed viewing, they provide an excellent indication of how a show is performing, particularly in comparison to other shows on the same channel.

While other economic reasons play a role, higher-rated shows are typically renewed while lower-rated ones are canceled. Discover how Home Economics compares to other ABC television programs.
Season 3 of Home Economics Updates
Is ABC going to cancel or renew Home Economics for a third season? This sitcom had a mediocre first season but was renewed for a second.
Though it fits well with ABC’s other sitcoms, I predict that if its ranking does not improve in season two, it will be canceled to make room for a new comedy. I’ll keep this website updated as new information becomes available.
