While he was still recording for his debut album, his first single titled “One Time” was rolled out to radio and peaked at number 12 during its first week in July 2009 on Canadian Hot 100 and at No. 17 on Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. Later, in the United States and Canada, the song was certified platinum and in Australia and New Zealand, it was certified gold.
