Season two of The Legend of Vox Machina was confirmed immediately after Amazon picked up season one.
The first season was funded through a successful Kickstarter effort, and Amazon ordered fourteen additional episodes after airing the first 10. (expanding season one to twelve episodes, with the same schedule for season two).
“As seen by their hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, Critical Role forged a new road for original digital content, with fresh new voices and comedy that garnered them passionate fans across the world,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios (via Variety).
“We’re ecstatic to collaborate with the entire team on bringing The Legend of Vox Machina and a new Critical Role series to Prime Video customers.”
“We were blown away by the degree of passion for the Kickstarter campaign, and now we can give precisely what the fans requested, and more,” Critical Role co-founders Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham said in a joint statement.
“Collaborating with Prime Video to bring the series to fans worldwide is thrilling and bizarre – and we’re ecstatic to be able to create even more stories with not one but two 12-episode seasons!”

Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina: When is the series likely to return?
While animated shows take years to develop, with Vox Machina’s massively successful Kickstarter campaign ending in 2019, the gang has had plenty of time to begin work on season two.
Consider the difficult circumstances surrounding the show’s season one launch (the epidemic moved the show’s debut from late 2020 to early 2022), and we’d bet that we’ll be seeing fresh episodes sooner than you might imagine.

If we’re extremely lucky, season two will arrive before the end of the year, bringing the show back to its original schedule. If not, the date will most certainly be January 2023.
Who is in The Legend of Vox Machina season 2?
Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham are not just cast members; they are also executive producers with a stake in the series’ success. We’d anticipate their return in their entirety.
What will the plot of The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 be about?
The series is based on Critical Role’s first Dungeons and Dragons game, with season one ending on a dramatic cliffhanger that wonderfully set up season two – especially if you enjoy dragons.
After being taken before King Uriel Tal’Dorei, ruler of the Tal’Dorei Empire, Vox Machina learned that Uriel was abdicating the throne to hand over the Empire’s administration the Tal’Dorei Council, claiming that Vox Machina’s collaboration influenced his decision.
However, after Vex’ahlia’s ringing ears alerted the gang to the impending arrival of a dragon, Keyleth and King Uriel noticed four dragons approaching rapidly. The season concluded with the sight of four dragons (each equally dreadful) about to devastate Emon.
Season two is expected to begin immediately following the cliffhanger, with the season dealing with the fallout from what is anticipated to be a brutal start to the new series.
