Dead Island 2 Could Be Revealed Soon In Time For Fall 2022

Dead Island 2 may finally see the light of day after spending more than eight years in development limbo.

Earlier today, Tom Henderson, a well-known insider, said on YouTube that he has spoken with insiders close to the production who have all affirmed Dead Island 2 is in a “good stage.”

Henderson said Dead Island 2 “may be unveiled shortly with some kind of gameplay teaser,” with a preliminary release date of late 2022 or early 2023 in the event of production delays.

The narrative has the player aboard an aircraft forced to crash into Hollywood due to a zombie outbreak. As the single survivor, the player must then forage for resources and stay alive for as long as possible. The gameplay will be identical to the first iteration, with “anticipated upgrades.”

Dead Island 2 was declared in 2014 and has changed developers many times. Dambuster Studios is the latest developer to lead the complex project, after Yager Development and Sumo Digital.

Subsequently, the sequel was delayed multiple times, prompting publisher Deep Silver to merely ensure that the game was not canceled throughout the years.

Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 has so remained unknown for two console generations. The long-awaited sequel supposedly became a cross-generational released at one time.

Still, later job posts indicate a current-generation-exclusive release for PlayStation 5, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and PC. According to court records discovered last year, the latter is restricted to the Epic Games Store.

Deep Silver has often claimed that Dead Island 2 would be released at the appropriate moment. That moment, after over a decade of waiting, may have finally arrived.
