Kanye West requested today on Instagram that Billie Eilish apologize to Travis Scott. Earlier this week, Eilish paused her performance at a concert to say, “I wait for everyone to be OK before I continue,” when a fan requested an inhaler.
Kanye saw it as a dig at Scott, who Kanye has said would play alongside him at his Coachella 2022 headlining show. Eilish is also a festival headliner this year. He stated:
COME ON, BILLIE, WE LOVE YOU. PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED, AND YES, TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA, BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM
Eilish commented on that post, which Pitchfork observed, “literally never said a word about Travis.” was only assisting a fan.”
On November 5, ten people perished during Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston. The victims ranged from nine to twenty-seven, and their deaths were declared due to compressive asphyxia. Scott came under fire for the festival’s lack of security and performed despite the crowd’s hysteria.

In an interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Travis was questioned, “So it’s difficult to distinguish excitement from danger, so to speak?” “Of sure,” Scott said, “everything starts to sound the same, and at the end of the day, you’re simply hearing music.”
Travis and Live Nation have been sued, and the House Oversight and Reform Committee is investigating the event promoter’s participation in the fatal performance.
